Throughout this document mysite, and are EXAMPLES ONLY you will replace these with your own unique Format address and custom domain name.

Format Domain Settings

  1. From your left sidebar tap 'Settings'

  2. Tap 'Domain and Email'

  3. Scroll dow to Format Address

  4. Enter your unique website domain name this is known as your Format address

  5. The Website Domain will show your Format address

  6. Tap 'Connect Your Domain' enter your existing registered domain name (replace with your actual custom domain name)

  7. 'Save Changes'

Sign in to

Sign in to your account.

Manage Domains

  1. From the 'Dashboard' select 'Domain List'

  2. Select the domain name you want to edit

  3. Tap the 'MANAGE' button

Redirect Domain

  1. Check that 'NAMESERVERS' are set to 'Namecheap BasicDNS' or 'Namecheap Default' If unsure, don't change.

  2. Check if 'REDIRECT DOMAIN' has already been set with Source URL and Destination URL as shown in the screenshot above (but with your actual registered domain name, not our example).

  3. If set, go to Step 5

  4. If no 'REDIRECT DOMAIN' set, tap 'ADD REDIRECT' and add Source URL and Destination URL (but with your actual registered domain name, not our example)

  5. Save changes (tap 'tick' icon next to rubbish bin).

  6. Tap 'Advanced DNS' tab.

Advanced DNS Settings

  1. CNAME Record for host 'www' may show with the Value

  2. If it does change to be your Format Address as set earlier eg.

  3. Under the URL Redirect Record you set earlier, tap the 'Unmasked' dropdown menu

  4. Scroll to the bottom and select 'Permanent (301)'

  5. Tap the 'tick' to save any changes.

You can now log out of Namecheap.

Check Your Domain Connection

Changes to your registrar's site are not instant! They can take up to 48 hours to take full effect (however, it usually takes a few hours).

It's best to check your connection after one day.

You will know that your domain connection is working when you enter and your Format site loads with  in the address bar.

Be sure to check that www comes up in the address bar.
