Overview

Your Site Menu is the page navigation that appears on your site. Depending on the theme that you have chosen, the Site Menu can appear at the top or bottom of the page, on the side, or it could be a corner (hamburger style icon) link as well.

On narrower displays (mobile devices) the text menu will appear as a corner hamburger style icon that needs to be clicked to activate.

Navigate to Portfolio > Pages

  1. From the left sidebar under Portfolio, click the 'Pages' button

  2. The 'IN MENU' area lists all pages visible in your site navigation menu

  3. The HOME shows which page will be seen first when visiting your website

  4. The 'Options' link provides more options (Remove From Menu, Set as Homepage).

  5. The 'NOT IN MENU' area lists all pages that will not appear in the Site Menu

  6. Preview with hamburger icon Site Menu (click to activate)

Page Types in more detail

  1. Collection Page: links to one or more pages within your site and displays a Cover Image and/or text link with Page Title. See our Collection Page guide

  2. Submenu Item: folder-style open for adding pages, that will appear in a dropdown menu when activated. See our Creating a Submenu guide

  3. Gallery Page: inside the Submenu Item folder. See our Gallery Page guide

For your live Format website to appear, there must be one page set as the 'Homepage'.

  2. Click 'Set as Homepage'

You can’t set a Submenu Item folder as the Homepage, but you can set a page inside to be the Homepage.

Deleting a Homepage

If you delete a page that was set as the Homepage, the topmost page left IN MENU will be designated as the new Homepage. You can change this at any time.

Homepage Not in Menu

If you are using a Title Page you may not want this to appear in the Site Menu.

You can position the page NOT IN MENU and have it set as the Homepage and it will display first. If the Website Logo Text or Logo Graphic is clicked, this will take viewers back to seeing the Title Page again without cluttering the Site Menu.

  1. Click on the '…' icon to activate the dropdown menu
