When your GoDaddy domain is set up correctly will load your Format site with showing in the address bar.

Throughout this guide mysite, and are EXAMPLES ONLY you will replace these with your own unique Format address and custom domain name.

Format Domain Settings
  1. From your Dashboard, in the lower-left Sidebar tap 'Settings'
  2. Tap 'Domain'
  3. Under Format Address enter your unique site domain name
  4. Under Add your own domain enter your existing registered domain name (replace with your actual custom domain name)
  5. 'Save Changes

Sign in to
  1. From 'Domains' > tap 'Manage' > Manage DNS

Select your Domain
  1. Icon view is easiest
  2. Tap 'Manage Connection'

Web Forwarding

Scroll down until you see 'Forwarding' panel

  1. Domain tap pencil icon to edit
The Nameservers need to be using GoDaddy's defaults and will look like: or or similar.
Set Forwarding
  1. Forward to (drop-down): http://
  2. Forward to (text field): www. followed by your domain name (all lower case)
  3. Redirect type: 301 (Permanent)
  4. Forward settings: Forward only
  5. Update my nameservers..: Checked
  6. Save
If there are existing entries here you will need to delete them. It can take several minutes before GoDaddy will let you make changes after deleting forwarding.

DNS Management

Tap the DNS Zone File tab

  1. Under CNAME (Alias) find the www entry.
  2. Tap 'pencil icon' to edit
Edit Zone Record
  1. Host: www
  2. Points to: (replace mysite with your unique Format Address)
  3. Save

Action needed or Confirmation

An Action needed or Success ribbon will appear toward the top of the page.

Click Save Changes or follow any other instructions

Sometimes it can take as long as 24 hours for your website to be connected to your domain.
