Adding Video to Flex Block Sections
Part of a new suite of tools for the Format site builder, you can now upload or embed videos to Flex Block sections. To do so, access the Flex Block editor, then follow the steps below.
- Add Element +: Click this to view all available flex block elements
- Hosted Video: Upload video to your flex block section directly from your computer
- Embedded Video: Embed Vimeo and YouTube videos in your flex block
Hosted Video
For Hosted Video, you have a number of controls available:
- Edit Video: Access additional video editing controls
- Video Align: Align your video within a nine-point grid
- Element Overlap Controls: You can overlap elements in the Flex Block editor. These buttons allow you to bring elements forward, send them backwards, move to front, and move to back. This effectively allows you to decide if an element is hidden behind another element or on top of it
- Duplicate: Duplicate the currently selected element
- Delete: Delete the currently selected element
Once you click Edit Video in step 1 of the previous screenshot, you'll be presented with the following options:
- Video File: Upload a video or replace an existing video
- Video Options: Enable controls for Auto Play, Looping or Mute your video. (Auto Play will not work unless the audio is muted).
Embedded Video
Embedded Video controls function similarly to Hosted Video controls, but are a bit more limited since the video player is embedded directly from YouTube or Vimeo.
- Edit Embedded Video: Add or change your hosted video link
- Element Overlap Controls: You can overlap elements in the Flex Block editor. These buttons allow you to bring elements forward, send them backwards, move to front, and move to back. This effectively allows you to decide if an element is hidden behind another element or on top of it
- Duplicate: Duplicate the currently selected element
- Delete: Delete the currently selected element
