You can select a flexible page template to use as a starting point for your new Custom Page.
Templates vs. Sections: what's the difference?
When you create a new Custom Page, you have the option to either Start from Scratch or Use a Custom Page Template. For flex block, this means either starting with a blank flex block section that you can add elements to, or selecting a flexible page template with placeholder content that you can replace with your own text and visual media.
Flex block page templates are a good way to quickly preview different page layouts, and are useful as a starting point when you aren't sure how you want your page to look. There are flexible templates for every major page category: About, Contact, Resume, Story, Title Page, and Home Page
Flexible page templates are marked with a green "FLEX" symbol in the top-right corner of the template, as shown in the screenshot below:
- Flex: This green symbol indicates the template is editable in the flex block editor. Read more about flex block editing in our Flex Block overview article
Editing flexible page templates
Flexible page templates and template elements can be edited the exact same way as regular flex block sections. For a complete overview of how to edit flex block elements, the flex grid, asset layers, and more, please view our Flex Block overview article.
Mobile editing
Flexible page templates come ready with mobile layouts, as well. You can view and edit the mobile layout of any flexible template the same way you would with a regular flex block section.
This mobile view displays on devices such as cellphones and tablets, and is separate from your flex block's desktop view.
- Preview: Preview and edit desktop and mobile views by clicking on the icons in the top-right corner of the flex block editor
You can move and resize all elements in your flex block to create a custom mobile layout. This allows you to optimize your flex block content for improved viewing experiences on mobile phones and tablets.
For Flexible Page Templates, a custom mobile layout will already be present. You can adjust this as desired.
The below screenshot shows an example of how flex block elements can be resized and repositioned into a layout that is separate from the desktop layout:
